A spinning horn and a spinning drum, picked up by microphones. The same rotary engine as in Rubigo RB3, as its own plugin, so it can follow any organ, electric piano or synth.
Free forever on Linux. 30-day full trial on Windows and macOS.
Included with Rubigo RB3: an RB3 license unlocks it too.
The treble horn and the bass drum turn at their own speeds. As they swing toward and away from the microphones they make the pitch shift, the throb and the swirl of the sound.
Switch speed and each one gets there at its own rate: the light horn in about a second, the heavy drum in several. The treble arrives first and the bass catches up, the classic spin-up and spin-down. Slow, Fast and Ramp are set per rotor.
Five setups, from the classic horn pair and drum mic to a stereo pair in a room, or set the distance and angle yourself. Each setup is level-matched, so switching changes the picture, not the loudness.
The cabinet's own tube amp, a transparent overdrive, an op-amp distortion or a hot-rod crunch, from clean and round to broken up. Off, the cabinet gets a clean signal at the same level.
122 / 147, Studio 12 and G37, each with its own horn, drum, crossover and tone. Shape the horn's size, brightness and beam, the turbulence of the air and the horn / drum balance.
Out of the box the mod wheel moves the speed lever and a sustain pedal flips Slow and Fast. Learn any controller for the lever, the Slow / Fast toggle or the brake.
Per-degree convolution across 360 impulse-response slices, synthesized from the cabinet geometry you set and fitted to each cabinet's measured response. The slices crossfade as the virtual rotors spin, with the Doppler shift and the cabinet's resonance.
It is the rotary in Rubigo RB3: one engine for both, so it sounds the same in each.
